Stanley exhaust night and motorcycle demolition derby saw Brad Oxley capture both main events. Oxley grabbed the lead in the handicap main on the fourth lap and then stretched his lead to almost 1/4 track before the checkers flew. In the scratch main it took to laps to get the lead from a flying Randy DeFransesco. DeFransesco, made it into his second consecutive scratch main and 4th place finish by getting great gates and showing all the Costa Mesa locals he will not move. Costa Mesa's most improved rider made it to the main by dominating his heats earlier in the night.

In the main event Oxley showed the way for Bobby Schwartz, Charlie Venegas,DeFransesco, and Gary hicks who did not start.

As mentioned above Oxley also won the handicap main event.  Tonight we tried a new format. The winner of each support race advanced to the 1st division handicap heat. This was a great bonus for the support riders. Three actually made it to the handicap main event.

Costa Mesa has been trying many new things over the past few weeks. Some have worked, Some, well ya know. I would like to put something on the table for our fine promoters to try.  Knowing that the hardest job in speedway is the ref... I would like to suggest trying two ref's. One on the outside as we do know and one on the infield. As we all know many races have been won and lost just because of a missed call by our ref. Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming him. He can only see so much and he does do his very best. I do however feel that if we had two ref's maybe the calls would not be missed. This will make the racing more fair for the riders. I know of many riders who feel they have been cheated by missed calls. It almost seems like a weekly thing for a rider to miss a transfer because of a missed call. Just this week alone Randy DeFransesco shoulod ahve made the handicap main but for a missed call.

Ok enough of that. You all get the idea. Don't forget you can get all of the racing action on a Raz Video.
