Schwartz wins.

Razzo the clown made his annual trip to So Cal for fan appreciation night. Razzo who replaced Brad Oxley in Saturdays program failed to make the handicap main but did manage to make the scratch main. After a wheel to wheel battle with Schwartz for 2 laps, Razzo made an uncommon mistake and almost hit the wall in turn four. This made for clear sailing for Bobby to take the checkered flag.
On the handicap side, "Smokin" Joe Winston made his first division depute. "Smokin" also tangled with Razzo in the semi causing a restart without Razzo. Razzo said it was the Americans being afraid of him and setting him up. "Smokin" Joe did transfer out of the semis and made his first main event. I however was unable to get complete results so I don't know where Joe finished. More on that later. I did find out that it was won by "FAST" Eddie Castro.
Ryan Fisher was not with us Saturday, nursing a cut on his face I hear. Rumor is his Father and coach is going to slow Ryan down a bit by putting him on an upright Jawa. The consensus is that this is for the best as it should allow Ryan to learn more about riding with the big guns. Although Ryan is as fast if not faster than a lot of the guys, he is still a rookie with a lot to learn. He will be one of the greatest but lets take him along at the right pace. GOOD CALL DAD.
What about Randy "The Rocket" DiFrancesco. You saw him transfer out of his scratch ride for the first time in a while. He then had problems in his semi and last chance race. Many of you saw him on the infield after the last chance race. The reason is because of a freak pit accident. While working on his bike, he cut of about 1/2 inch of his index finger. Randy was pumped for his scratch races but after the pit accident he could not hold onto the handlebars. It was his throttle hand and with the pain he just could not hold on and twist the throttle. I was helping randy with his equipment in the pits after his race so this is why I could not get the handicap results. Randy was in good spirits but the pain was very evident.
Gary Ackroyd also had a hard get off in the handicap main. Gary was taken off the track on a backboard. After the medics checked him out in the pits Gary was released. Dizzy but released.
Next week I will be in Pismo Beach so no results. I will be back the following week and in Ventura for the long track race. Raz Video will be on hand at Ventura so be sure to pick up a copy of that race.
