Faria comes from 70 yds back to win!

They call him "flyin" Mike Faria for a reason. Tonight on 
legends of speedway night he showed why. After getting a 20 yard
penalty Mike started from the 70 yard line. It took him every bit
of 8 laps to pull into the lead but he did it. Faria won the
handicap main event over Gary Ackroyd by inches. Making his pass
in turn for on the last lap. Ackroyd held the lead over Charlie
Venegas for 7 laps while Faria was trying to catch up. On the 8th
lap Faria found his way past them both. Also picking up a win
tonight was Charlie "the edge" Venegas in the scratch side of
racing. Charlie was out to prove he is a major contender for the
U.S National Championship to go along with his recent California
State Championship victory last week.  Charlie lead wire to wire
in the main event and nobody was within 15 yards of him at the
finish. Making the trip to Costa Mesa this week was Nor. Cals.
Bart Bast. Bast showed he can also handle the short tracks by
making the scrach main and finishing third. With a few weeks
practice Bast should also be a runner for the Nationals. We
learned the Chris 'The Kid' Manchester is set to race the
Nationals. It looks like Manchester will be replacing Chad
Falicio who broke his colar bone last week. Give Manchester a few
rides at Costa Mesa and he also is a contender. Next week I will
be starting my picks for the Nationals so be sure to check back.

Next week is skirt night. Any person wearing a skirt gets into 
the races for free. Men, women, Boys , girls and those that are
not really sure. Come out and see some racing, the season is
