Tonight was the night many people waited for. The rematch between
Tyson and Holyfield. This was to be the fight to see. Well, you all were
wrong. Tyson got to hungry and had ear for dinner and the fight was over.
For those of you that stayed home to see this, You missed the real deal.
we were all treated to a great night of racing, a small crowd and
even a little fighting of our own. The racing started out slow
for the heat races, that's ok. Some of the top riders were missing
and that's ok too. In the semi's things heated up a bit. But in the mains,
Look out. First in the sratch main, John "THE ICEMAN" Aden got the gate.
Aden held off the field for almost one lap. With an awsome pass on the outside,
Mike Faria made the pass. You may have thought Faria had this thing all
wrapped up but then came McConnell. McConnell fought his way up to the front
and some say he even won the race by a few inches. I don't know, I did not see
it but Faria was givin the win. Then it was time for the handicap main event
and those famous words, LETS GET READY TO RUMMMMMBLE. In the first try Jerry Black
laid it down all by himself. The ref tossed the red flag and stopped the race.
For unknown reasons he allowed a complete restart. During the discusion, Aden decided
to go to a back-up bike. He pulled into the pits and started looking as he did not have one
of his own. Randy DiFrancesco, who owns Adens bike from last year
Stepped up and offered Aden a bike. The only problem is that Randy had already
backed off the clutch. Aden went to the track to wait for the bike. As
soon as the clutch was set Randy brought the bike to Aden. By then the drag truck was parked in the
tunnel. Randy could not get the bike to the track. Soon the ref
called the two minute time and tossed Aden out. Aden finnally got the bike but refussed
to leave the track. He did pull to the gate to leave once but the people at the gate would not
open it to let him off the track. The ref said if Aden doesn't leave he will not be scored.
Bobby Schwartz had enough of this and pulled off the track and did not race.
So when all was said and done, Aden finished third but was credited with eighth.
There was lots of talk about fines being handed out but we will have to wait to see what
comes of this.
